Adjective
This project focuses on using sounds found in every day object and turn them into a audio track.
With this project, I found it very exciting to find things that could often be found around the house and put them together, crunching, touch, morphing them in different ways to create sounds of any kind. My initial goal was to create a drum set of sort, but as I kept finding new things, I knew I had to change that plan. Inspired by the idea of a drum box, with how different ways and angles of tapping the box can produce a variety of sound. Hence, I brought the same idea into my project.
Material
My "drum box", which was built from a shoe box, includes:
plastic straw
plastic straw with wood strands
plastic cup
plastic fork
paper cup
aluminum foil
a balloon
a plastic egg with sand
a plastic egg with small pebbles
Even though the assignment asks for 10 different sound, I used the paper cup to produce 2 of them, given that it gives off distinct sounds, depending on where I hit the cup.

Sounds:
Process
Putting together the sound was really fun as well, though a bit tricky and certain things came out not as intended due to my lack of understanding about sound in general and how to use the Audacity software.
Inspired by sci-fi horror movies like Alien (1979), I pushed the sound toward more of a sci-fi effect
Reflection
Overall, through the project, I definitely have come to look at sound art through a very different lens. I realize that making sound art requires a whole different set of skills, one that I had not yet acquired, but also just as experimental and require tons of trial and error. Even the steps of exporting and converting the soundscape caused me trouble and required me to further self explored the topic at hand.
